Don’t Hesitate

hesitate

The other day I was pulling out of our neighborhood and onto a four-lane highway. Just as I was turning left, I could see a car out of the corning of my right eye rounding the curve and heading my way. My initial reaction was to hesitate, let off the gas, and make sure the car was going slow enough so that I would be able to make the turn and be safely ahead of it. In a flash, I decided that I had looked before turning and that I had enough time and space. I got on the gas, made my turn, and was way ahead of the car in question. If I had second-guessed my calculation and hesitated just a few seconds, there may have been trouble on the road. As I sped down the highway, I reflected on the past few minutes. All that went through my mind while I was turning was very similar to things that … [Read more...]

Savor Diversity

Savor Diversity

I have been recording commercials that are played on my Radio Segment. (Click Here) This has been such a fun way to meet new people and to learn about different businesses and products! Some people send me their products to try and to use, so that I can give a better and more realistic testimony. I get to listen to people explain their passion and learn about the services they provide. This whole side gig has been really enlightening and eye-opening. It is amazing how much diversity there is in the business world and how people have taken their different passions and have made them into their own money-making businesses. Diversity at its Best: In one day, I had the privilege of recording two commercials: One was for a web site that offers workshops, conferences, one-on-one sessions, … [Read more...]

From Victim to Victor

victim to victor

We all have our reasons to be and feel like a Victim. We have all been through situations that seem unfair and have had a negative effect on our lives. We all have had regrets and wished we could go back in time and change things. I am right there with you. I have had my fair share of feeling like a victim in my life. When I was in college, I decided that feeling like a victim and acting like a victim no longer served me. I wanted to prosper and to become a victor. I no longer wanted the negative situations (I call these "Negative Nasties") in my life to control me, my thoughts, actions, and words. I took charge of my life. Are you ready to do the same? I began writing this blog three years ago so that I could help people look at life differently. I write so that I can help people … [Read more...]

Misunderstood

misunderstood

Have you ever been misunderstood? Of course you have, we all have. When we are misunderstood, it doesn't feel good. Our words can get twisted and people can take things the wrong way. When this happens we get a chance to respond. We have a choice: either we can become defensive or we can explain our side with grace. The other day I was misunderstood: A woman emailed me about working with me. I explained that I was going on vacation and that if she requested to be alerted when I returned that I would do so. There is a form she needed to fill out. Well, when I returned she contacted me harshly saying she was going to work with someone else because I did not do what I said I was going to do. She thought I said I would contact her when I was home. I was very professional and explained … [Read more...]

A Mental Experiment

mental

We put such limits on ourselves. We have these beliefs or preconceived notions that tend to control and stifle us in certain situations. I have a need to see. I do not like it when it is pitch black. I do not like being in a room with no windows. I do not like elevators. This can feel like a panic attack and sometimes manifests in the feeling of claustrophobia. This feeling is intensified when coupled with motion sickness. I believe we all feel certain things and have anxieties as a result of childhood or past experiences. We have a stamp on our subconscious that is there until we address it. My fear of not being able to see, I believe, is a result of two tragic things that occurred in my childhood: 1) My big brother (God I love him) thought it would be funny to zip me up in a … [Read more...]
